Learning By Doing, J. Michael Straczynski (redux) and Tease, Tease, Tease!

So, I ran into some technical and other snags with the first Spar Battersea novel, but fear not, true believers, it’s coming this week. Keep your eyes out Wednesday!

As I noted a little while ago, so much of the new changes in publishing is a dance between crisis and opportunity, and between these two poles often lies a truck load of fears.  But sometimes you have to gun it, even with the hang ups, like this young lad!

Will we make it to the other side??? Stay Tuned!

Until then, back by popular demand, here’s a lecture from “transmedia creator” J. Michael Straczynski, on the need to go forward despite the fear in our hearts so that we can snatch a bit of stardust.

And, to keep you geared, and not let my own fears swallow me whole, I thought I’d share some non-spoiler blurbs for the upcoming novel release to tease, tease, tease you silly!  Try and guess who sent them (see the clues below)! Get all three answers right and you win the first ever Spar Battersea Appreciation Award!

“A brash, fresh, and entertaining talent steps into the ring.”

(clue: a kindle sensation who made his name with Appalachian horror novels!)

“Gritty, relentless, and wry as hell, Ridler brings the pain.”

(clue: a double-tough, Shirley Jackson award-winning author!)

“XXX is a fine, innovative noir from an exciting new writer.”

(clue: A multiple-award-winning author who knows more about the guerrillas of Honduras and modern day hobos than Hemingway knew about bullfights!).

Answers revealed when the book is launched! Now to get a short story done!
